Right, but preordering usually saves some money or gets you a free stick of beef jerky or something like that. Just wondering where the best deal was.

I just finished replaying Reach, Halo: CE Anniversary, Halo 2, and Halo 3 in anticipation. I'm pretty stoked for this week.
I picked up ODST when I picked up AC3 an played a couple of hours of it. Now I wonder why it took me so long to buy it. I had always dismissed it, but the ambience and gameplay is pretty good. Well worth $20.

Sarcasm is (apparently) difficult to detect on the internet.
Anyways, I pre-ordered this at Newegg when it was $45 w/free shipping a few weeks ago but then almost cancelled it as none of my friends are getting it and it drops 1 week before Black Ops 2 comes out, but in the end I figured why not. Should be fun.

The limited edition was very limited to begin with. It's not like some limited editions where the stores can do as many pre-orders as they want. They basically had a limit and once that was reached it was shut off. Sometimes amazon has them on day one though or maybe a gamestop near you will have a couple people change their mind. I know at my local store there's always one guy who reserves a limited edition and later decides that $150 or whatever it costs is too much money to spend and has to settle for just the game.

I'm installing it to XBox hard drive now, getting ready to play the single player for a good number of hours tonight. I'll probably stay up til 6am when polls open and then go vote.
Hope I don't finish it TOO quickly. I don't really plan to mess with multiplayer much.

Seems cool so far though I have some minor gripes (spoilers kinda but not really)
No classic halo theme on opening menu
No flashlight or night vision as far as I can tell so far
Warthog excessively loud
Changes to covenant designs
No booklet
Cortana's teeth

I started watching the Forward Unto Dawn episodes over on the Halo Waypoint site - they're surprisingly good, and the end of episode three was very tense!
