The guy who manages my insurance branch was my 3rd grade soccer coach over 25 years ago, and purchased my grandfather's house when he passed away. I will stick with this guy, even though now I live an hour away.

I was about to punch ATG in the throat for turning a 2013 GT500 thread into a goddamned car-insurance thread. Thank goodness someone stepped in before it came to that.
Originally the plan was to throw in a bunch of GT500 burnouts and car porn, but then I found this article, and I think it's absolutely important that the OP sees it.
http://www.mustang50magazine.com/tec...ns_let_it_eat/
That was _40_ whp from changing the throttle body, folks.
...and NOW a burnout pic.

That sucks. I hate to see a good car go to a douchebag like you.

Well there is a supercharger pulley that wears out and makes the car feel slower so you have to replace it with progressively smaller ones every couple months.

Wow. Jules shouldn't have said that certainly - it was uncalled for. But he is a regular contributor to this forum. Alky comes on here to troll, insults people far worse, and the mods wring their hands saying that there's nothing they can do for months on end. Yet Jules gets banned just like that? I guess that just leaves me very puzzled.

I don't know how I missed this thread but I did. Your new car is beautiful. I'm looking forward to more pics and impressions. Thanks for sharing.

I'm sure it was said out of jest. Sometimes the tone of the post doesn't come through.

One of these years all of you pony-car boys will have to have an ATG drag race.

It seems fairly inconsistent. Ferzerp didnt seem offended, so I'm surprised he got banned for it. Maybe they have history and Jules was already warned.

Just get some seat time with the beast before you take it to the strip. Back in September someone smacked up a 2012 GT500 at WIR's Real Street Drags test and tune night.

Can't selectively enforce the rules. Alky is just a sneaky troll who knows how to intentionally walk the line with implied and indirect insults but doesn't straight out cross the line in an obvious way.

It's docile, but intimidating at the same time. My last car was 470hp, but this is something quite a bit different. In traffic, it's perfectly fine, though starting with that much power and such tall gears requires far more clutch control than I'm used to (it doesn't help that I've not daily driven a manual since my early 20's). At extremely low speeds, with that much engine and such a responsive throttle, it will take a while before I produce a perfectly smooth ride.

I think it's a testament to modern mass production cars how 600+ HP is easy to drive daily. It used to be a very scary proposition, but now my wife takes my car out and doesn't have any problems.

All that with a normal maintenance schedule and a warranty. It's pretty impressive. I hope cars continue improving like that. If you'd asked me 10 years ago if a car with a 3.5s 0-60 time was attainable by now for a reasonable price, I'd have laughed.
I received my radar detector today, but, despite expidited shipping, blendmount took a day to ship it and shipped it USPS so I only have the icky suction mount as an option for now.

I went with the valentine one based on the input here as well as the input of friends from real life. I know here the escort was suggested slightly more, but I put more stock in the word of people I really know.

As long as you have something, you should be good. Saved me at least 10 times from camping cops that I didnt have eyes on. One thing I like about the 9500ix is the db for speed traps and what not, although in practice the only time I have updated it was the first time I set it up.

Honestly, the radar detector is more to remind me not to accidentally go fast. I haven't had a speeding ticket since I was 18 (not because I don't drive fast either, I am just very aware when I do and know where the police sit around here).
