YAGT: Filling a void
I have the following:
.22LR Revolver
.40S&W p229
.380 RugerLCP
.223 AR 15
7.62x54 mosin
I'm getting rid of a 2nd .40S&W because it's useless to me now
I want to replace it with something badass
Thinking of
.44 revolver *S&W or Ruger Blackhawk*
mossberg 500/remington 870
.357 small frame revolver
whacha think? I am a frequent CCW and backpacker...which makes me lean towards the .357/.44....but I feel empty without a 12gauge

Looks like you've got everything from point blank to 1000 yards covered.
I'd go with either a 12 gauge, a long range bolt action in .338 Lapua or similar, or just buy more ammo.

Won't happen. Bullets make voids, not fill them.

I would say .357 mag revolver or long range bolt action rifle.
shotgun works too but i'm not a big fan of shotguns

The Colt Anaconda is bad ass. The 1911 is bad ass.
Start thinking about particular guns too....like the Heckler & Koch P7 "the squeeze cocker"

You are definitely lacking in shotgun and 1911. If you aren't worried about bears, I would skip the .44 as it is pricey to shoot much unless you reload.

I'd vote for the Mossberg 500 12ga.

Forget the 44, you need a nice 1911. If you feel like spending the money get a fancy ass Kimber.

Skip the Kimber, go with a Nighthawk or a Wilson if you are going to go high-end.

No interest in Kimber at all. According to the Internets (take that for what it's worth, mostly a lot of people talking about guns they have never touched let alone owned) Kimber quality has supposedly improved, still not interested.
Go with the Mossberg 590 Mariner, nice entry scatter gun.

Get a judge then. More diversity on the ammo that way...

I think I'm going to hit the range and rent a .44 magnum and try it out. I am really digging the old school style of the redhawk and blackhawk

With the Judge, you have more versatility I would think, and cheaper ammo.

45 Colt isn't cheap by any stretch. In terms of ammo price:
.38Special<.357Magnum<44Magnum<45Colt. So the judge definitely isn't cheap to shoot

Ah woops...I was thinking it was cheaper. I admit, I don't own a .45. How about the .410?

I'd get a shotgun but revolvers are cool too.
Most revolver cartridges are fairly expensive to buy loaded ammunition for but cheap to reload, and you don't have to chase your brass around.
I reload .38spl for about 9 cents a pop.
