with 4 mil you could build some pretty silly ravens, and maybe giving noobs the leeway to cusomize from the getgo isn't the best idea. you could still choose a few prime variants to get for free. the centurion is a pretty good do everything introduction mech imo.

love that one. Had it a few times over several patches. ac/20 in torso, shoot and it goes off in some upper left direction, miles away from where I am targeting. And once it happens, all shots from that location are stuffed.

First time I spotted it was when the enemy was lagged out, now I am seeing it when they are not laged.

The first seems that way, but when it happens to me, generally the items have been purchased, just not in the mech I was customising. Just like when going save and items do not get placed into the mech.

as to the second, I have to agree. Looking at the current repair bills, and using my founder mechs, and the VIP I suspect is still running for now, I can bearly get enough to average 100K per match. Played ealier this week after the patch and it took about 4 hours to get enough credits to afford to adjust my founder mechs (extra armour and heat sinks, stripping unwanted weapons). saving for a extra mech is going to be a week of constant gaming at best. I pitty long it will take non-vip's in non-cbill boosted mechs to get their first mech.

played 3 rounds when open started in my founders Cat with pugs. saw what i was earning and decided i dont have the time to fuck around, so i bought and AS7-K with my founders MC and sold it for the C-Bills. used the XL300 for my cat, the bills for DHS and the equipment to pimp my cat. made a HUGE difference in enjoyability.

As perverted as it may sound, since I had my Legendary Founders refunded, I'm really enjoying grinding out C-Bills and stuff. It feels like an achievement making that upgrade.

Granted, buying your first mech and knowing it's going to be just as useless as a Trial Mech until you gain loads of exp and C-Bills is a bit of a kick in the downbelows.

latest word on heatsinks... all dhs will now dissipate at a rate of 1.4 and not 2...

i have mixed emotions about this change. its probably for the best. a straight doubling would be way too overpowered.

i understand why they did it. a straight doubling would be way too overpowered. i think its a tad too low though. it will continue to be looked at and adjusted... or so they say.

so pulses, ERs and PPCs remain fairly useless

So many 8-0s, the Devs are retarded to not hotfix matchmaking into the game after they decide to release the game after so much feedback about 8-0 pug stomping. Game truly does suck.

Or you could, you know, get better. Try using teamwork. That sort of thing. And if you bothered to read anything, you'd already know matchmaking is one of their top priorities. Trust me, we're also sick of being forced to drop against you as well.

Learn to gripe about something worthwhile, like the double heatsinks.

How the hell do we force 7 other teammates not to run into the middle of the lake alone or take their LRM boat into the caves?

The average teammate in a PUG is about one standard deviation removed from brain dead. Most PUG matches I'm in end with me getting 2 or 3 kills and the rest of my team getting slaughtered with no one doing more than 200 damage, despite trying to organize them through chat.

Just played the game on Windows 8 Pro 64-bit. Plays just as well/poorly on Win 7 Ult 64-bit.

Do want optimisations because it still doesn't run that fantastic on my rig.

because translating the rules straight from TT doest work well in this type of videogame.
it may very well work if all the weapons only fired once every 10 seconds per TT, but being able to shoot your laser 3 times in 10 seconds and having it do full damage with no threat of overheat is not optimal.

They need to revisit the 10 second rule then and figure out how to appropriately normalize damage across this range with w/e cycle times they choose. ALL the balance problems currently stem from this. I promise you small lasers wouldn't be so popular if they dumped their damage in the same time as medium and large lasers.

I can make this really simple for them:
Lasers: 2 second firing, 3 second cooldown. Half heat and damage of TT values.
Pulse Lasers: 1 second firing in 2 pulses. 1/3 heat and damage of TT values.
AC20: 8 second cooldown. 20% less heat and damage from TT, 20% more ammo.
AC10: 6 second cooldown. 40% less heat and damage from TT, 40% more ammo.
AC5: 4 second cooldown. 60% less heat and damage from TT, 60% more ammo.
AC2: 2 second cooldown. 80% less heat and damage from TT, 80% more ammo.

See where I'm going with this? It really isn't that hard to establish a good, logical starting point, and make your balance changes from there.

actualy it's real damned easy, if something fires 3 times over 10 seconds, it does 1/3 max damage each shot, generates 1/3 heat each shot.....not rocket science here.

Yep, haven't noticed much of a difference from 7 to 8, maybe a couple in my favor but that could just be relatively clean install.

I agree, im probably also done with the game if they dont fix double heatsinks to be double heatsinks, paying 3 critical slots for less than half their intended effectiveness is retarded.

They are totally trying to balance the wrong way, you dont need to change double heatsink you need to re adjust the base values for heat and damage to bring them into line with the increased fire rate.

Seeing the decisions they have been making lately makes me soooo glad I got a refund. I wish it wasn't like this though because we need an awesome MW game.

I think everyone understands that, except the people coding it.

Yeah it is, for the worse. IMO the game was alot better 2 months ago. Hit detection was better, netcode was better, lag was better, firing delay was better. Ever since they moved to the new engine its been going downhill like a landslide.
