Official AT Guild Wars 2 Guild Thread

You can only craft a given selection of "prefixes". Carrion will always be Power/Vit/CondDmg, Knights will always be Power/Tough/Precision, etc. So if the 'combo' you want isn't one of the prefixes, it's not craftable.

The X factor being a lot/some of the dungeon sets and Karma sets (purchasable at the Orrian temples) have non-craftable stat combos. For instance, "Soldiers" gear is not craftable but you are still able to purchase Power/Vit/Toughness gear from dungeons and Orrian karma vendors. If you can't find what you want from crafting, browse those.

Alright thanks, I joined the Order of Whispers cause they had the closest armor to what I was looking for, although I'd still prefer vitality over toughness. Seems a little dumb to have this complicated crafting system when the end results are still the same as what you'd get by just buying one of the pre-made sets for a little bit of gold. It'd be worth the hassle if you could customize everything you wanted, but at the moment I'm not seeing any reason to bother with either of the disciplines...

Crafting is still a great source of XP and I find it a nice break from questing while you're leveling up.

And as already mentioned, definitely check the dungeon vendors in Lions Arch and/or the karma vendors in Orr, they have unique stats that you can always transmute if you don't like the appearance.

i'm not getting it.

I guess i was hoping for GW1 type events that, while some grinding was involved, didn't require hours and hours and hours of daily devotion just to get the type of special items that one already must grind to get.

I like some of these events, sure....maybe it's just that I'm still into playing my various other toons, and really don't have time to care about the Halloween stuff. I was really looking forward to it, too....but color me ...disillusioned?

don't get me wrong--I do think there is some cool stuff, but as I didn't rush my way ot the end in 3 days and spend all that time grinding out crap on one toon, I am still not in that phase of needing an additional grind for a limited event. Basically--not the right time and place for what I want with the game right now--though I'm still playing around as usual, of course.

I haven't bothered with trying for the BLC or crafting the skins, but I have participated in the Book hunts, the Clock Tower, RotMK, and the MK dungeon; all great fun and I've gotten some good loot out of the repeatable dungeon; exotics, keys, dyes. I'm only level 62

I logged in the other day and after killing a few mobs solo and not getting any responses from anyone around or in the guild I logged out. I'm going to add GW2 to my list of games I shouldn't have got. Diablo 3 is right up there too. : /

Odd...I didn't like the game much at all at first but now I'm feeling the old addicting MMO feeling again. It helps to take your time and play at your own pace and try out ALT and lvl in zones you didn't lvl previously.

just got this game on Friday. played guild wars 1 for 4 years and felt like I knew it well, its been a while since I played and now I feel like a n00b

I got the two books and I've done every achievement except attend the party, which I'm guessing is gonna be the last act. Basically been farming in the labyrinth as much as possible, made around 20 gold I think so far.

The clock tower was a real pain the ass cause I'm an Asura, damn Charr and Norns were literally burying me so I had to go off muscle memory. Took me like 2 hours to finish it.

Only thing I've done is the dungeon, couple of my friends did the jump puzzle and enjoyed themselves. The dungeon is quick and worth a once-through at least.

Other than that all we do is run dungeons every few nights. There really isn't much else to do. Ultimately I miss healers/dps/tanks and raids/ops since the world event equivalents are laggy mindless zergs. The dungeons aren't bad though, as much as I loathe certain parts they're still amusing in a group.

Hurricane Sandy decided I should take a break from GW2. Got evacuated on Sunday, lost power on Monday, and power company is estimating another 5-8 days until power is restored. Hopefully that's just a "worst case" scenario. I don't play as much as some but for anyone wondering where my characters disappeared to (Alyssa and Blonde)... well, now you know.

Kind of bummed that I missed out on most of the Halloween events, I was JUST starting to warm up to them too. I was pretty much blown away by the awesomeness of the ones I tried, but like Zin mentioned I was still too caught up with leveling alts to really delve too much into the holiday events.

I miss running AC... Must. Get. More. Tears.

I think you are just playing at the wrong time or need to join a different guild (you can have different characters in different guilds). Yes, the AT guild can be pretty quiet, but things wake up a bit in the after 10pm EST timeframe for a couple hours.

Compounding matters, all the local gas stations are completely empty and no word on when they'll be getting more gas. Lines for gas nearby were over 50 cars long, reports of fistfights breaking out as people tried to cut in-line...etc.

Who knows, I'm still holding out hope that power will be back sooner than later but man, oh man is it looking grim.

Just started as my brother isn't playing atm, started up a ranger and just reached level 11. Any tips/hints? It took me a few days to find the "deposit collectibles" button

go kill stuff, follow events around. complete the hearts for a more efficient route to XP (hearts can be completed by doing most nearby events, when the popup...which is generally faster and more entertaining than the heart requests)

if you need a guild, let me know and i can send an invite. Plenty of tips and such in the first posts of this thread, also our player IDs for in-game contact.

agreed. I usually play from 6PM-10PM EST. The guild is practically silent from 6pm-930PM EST

this is usually because I don't get in until ~6pm PCT, will log-in up to an hour after that....and I am the most obnoxious abuser of the chat channel.
