New pictures show second Chinese stealth fighter being test flown

Quote:
WASHINGTON (CNN) - CNN has obtained detailed photographs of a new stealth fighter being tested in China.
It is the second such stealth fighter China has tested in as many years and appears destined to become the communist nation's future aircraft carrier-based fighter jet, according to weapons analysts.
The plane, dubbed by outsiders as the J-31, was test flown Tuesday in Shenyang. According to the analysts, the two photographs obtained by CNN appear to have been leaked by officials in China....

While these are both fifth-generation fighter jets, that doesn't put them on par with America's two newest fighters.
For example, Pike said China's jet engines just don't come close to American engines. "This is a sucking chest wound of Chinese military aviation."
Pike said the primary Chinese military jet engine is based on an American design. "We started development of this engine back in the '60s. Then they commercialized it in the 1970s. Then the Chinese got a hold of it 20 years ago and it's still no good. It's a half century-old design that they've been working on for two decades, and it's still no good."

I suspect they aren't designed as much to win wars as they are to win contracts.

They're powered by the latest iphone processor and have LTE. There is no pilots, they're wirelessly controlled. They also use Apple maps for navigation. If China decides to attack the US, Australia better brace themselves for the worse.

If the first design was somewhat original, this newer one looks almost exactly like the f22 ... with a touch of f35 for good measure. Lockeed's officials must be foaming at the mouth right about now.

can't be that stealthy, it's exhaust is completely exposed. The f-22 has ways to mask its heat signature.

And what a startling success the F22 is.

BEIJING (Reuters) -
There are preliminary reports of pilots experiencing unexplained oxygen deprivation during testing. An investigation to determine the cause of the oxygen deprivation in flight is currently on-going. Preliminary solutions being recommended by the chinese air force have been to equip pilots with pressurized flight vests

So you get a fighter in the basic shape of a stealth. However, it has no stealth properties. Forward canards are huge radar signatures (J-20), so are exhaust nozzles. No thrust vectoring or supercruise and the engines are a disaster. It probably doesn't have stealth coating, its radar is probably very sub-par.

So really, all this is is a very unrealiable fighter that was made to look stealth but has no properties of a modern fighter. lol.
