Default Anyone know how to rehab bicep tendinitis?

I have it in both arms and it's pretty bad. It really limits my day to day activities.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

If it's something that affects your daily function, see a physician and get a prescription for physical therapy. This isn't something you should try to fix yourself, as there can be a lot of things contributing to it (focal limitations within the muscle, shoulder, elbow range of motion limitations, posture, movement patterns, etc). A physical therapist will be the person to see for this.

Lol, that is a simple question with an insanely complex answer. Besides keep everything moving exactly as it should (which would be a day job in itself), it also depends on your job, workout schedule, sleep schedule, diet, rest schedule, etc. I can't answer something that general, as much as I'd like to.

In the meantime, you can ice the injured/painful area and take some NSAIDs. That should help with the inflammation. Also doing some light movement like biceps curls without any weight will help put some really light, healthy tension through it. If that hurts, then don't do it. If it doesn't, do 20 reps and do it every few hours. Should help over a few days.

I had this in my right arm, from pitching. You will def. need PT. I can't tell you what they will do for you, but for me it involving a sequence of heating and icing, following by the therapist massaging the tendon and stretching it, followed by some light stregthening moves, then a restretch, then a final icing. I went 2 times a week for about 2 months. Since I stopped playing, it hasn't come back.

Thanks for the help. I'll be going to my doctor next week to ask for a referral for PT.

Definitely see a physician and get some physical therapy, don’t play with your body. There are things that you must not ignore, be careful that it won’t be too late.
