Answer: You probably would get more fps looking at BF2 screenshots on Gamespot.com than playing the game with that card

Next Tuesday cannot come soon enough. Is there anyone else here going to play this or do I need to follow some of you to the AVS forum?

I'm expecting the campaign to be a pretty entertaining chunk of time. Other multiplayer maps should be a bit better with less bush camping, especially since some popular multiplayer modes move the point of focus several times.

That's what I am hoping for. I am sure that like any other game, there will be maps that have areas that snipers will exploit. I wasn't 100% sold, and I still have concerns, but I like the Battlefield series enough to give it a shot.

Very excited about this game. I really hope some of the glitches have been fixed that were apparent in the beta.
Edit: Reading some of the links provided by the OP seems to indicate some of the issues have been resolved in the final builds...good to hear.

This is going to be my game of the winter. A little Forza and FIFA and whatever else comes out on the side, but BF3 is my time sink. I LOVE this series, probably because I'm more decent at it than the faster paced shooters. It just feels like warfare with vehicles and destruction going on all around.
If anyone wants to add me on Live, please do. Once the new dashboard gets that beacon feature going, we'll be set.

I assume you're talking about Conquest over Rush. I'm wondering which mode will be more popular on consoles. Conquest is the obvious choice for PC but if I'm not mistaken, Conquest on the consoles feature fewer capture points (I'm not 100% on that, though). Plus, haven't Bad Company players been playing mostly Rush for the past couple years?

Well, kind of both of them really. Conquest has set points but the action really does move between those set points depending on what's being capped or not. The capture points in Rush do actually move though, so at least in that one once you get past a capture point you won't go back to it.
I'm not sure what's more popular. I played BC2 on console and Rush seemed to be popular. Though there was no shortage of Conquest players. I'll be playing BF3 on PC though.

Agreed. Rush is too stressful for me, and everyone knows where everyone is going to be. In Conquest I can sneak around back and take them from behind.

Loved that guy in 24, but he is probably the most typecast actor in hollywood.

Interesting screenshot before/after comparisons of the 360 versions with and without the HD pack installed (found at NeoGAF):

That is an amazing difference! You gotta think at this point of the 360s lifecycle, there can't be many people left who don't have a version with a hard drive. And if there is, they're most likely very casual players who either wouldn't buy games like this outright or appreciate the graphical/speed advantage to having a HD would be anyways.
I'm glad I'll be able to install this, the HD version looks amazingly good for a near decade old console!
