Default Quicken 2010 - 50% off until 1/4 -- it is still good on 1/11

Quicken is offering a 50% discount for a few days.
I removed the url because I think it may have personal info.

As of 1/11/2010, today, the deal is still on.

For quicken deluxe, their website has $59.99 marked to $39.99. Where is it 50% off?

Thumbs up

As a Microsoft Money cast-away, I've been looking for a good deal on Quicken and this certainly qualifies. I just purchased (list price $90) Quicken Priemer 2010 (on CD) for $45 (plus $4 tax) and Willmaker 2010 (still) thrown in for free. Thanks to the OP for pointing this deal out to me.

Here's the link into the Quicken website for the deal (which I found googling):

http://quicken.intuit.com/lp/qkn10/q..._18568_024_003

Now waiting for a good deal on TurboTax...

Amazon has a combo deal on Turbo Tax and Quicken. I think you save $25 by buying any two editions together, except for starter, which saves $20.

I had TT Premiere and Quicken Premiere in my cart for $106.

Default Thanks guys

I'm also a MS Money outcast, and waiting for a good deal on Quicken. Thanks to both LongtimePCuser and sjwaste. It think I'm going to hit up the Amazon deal though, as I need both products too, and that seems to be a better deal.

Quicken seems to have a 5 year life cycle, and six months or so into each "new" year product the full deluxe or premier editions start showing up on ebay cheap as people break up bundles that sell with new computers. Most of the time I don't upgrade until Quicken starts telling me support for my edition is dropping soon.

First, "Thanks OP!" for letting us know about the great deal on Quicken directly from Intuit.

For those who want to go with the Amazon deal, you could consider using the download option for both products to get them for $124.91:

TurboTax 2009 Premier (download - $67.92)
http://www.amazon.com/TurboTax-Premi...dp/B002VPE3FU/

Quicken Premier 2010 (download - $56.99)
http://www.amazon.com/Intuit-409949-.../dp/B002PDPIFW

Quicken Home & Business 2010 (download - $66.49 - if added to TurboTax 2009 Premier = $134.41)
http://www.amazon.com/Quicken-Home-B.../dp/B002PDPIGQ

If you're quick enough to get in on these, you could maximize your savings by buying Quicken via the promotion that the OP mentions and then buying TurboTax from Amazon. Just another thought. (For example, Quicken 2010 Home & Business via Intuit ($49.99) plus TurboTax Premier 2009 from Amazon ($67.92) = $117.91)

Hope that helps someone out!

MS Money castaway here as well.

Does Taxcut also work with Quicken?

Any other options besides Quicken? Anyone try Mint.com?

I tried Mint.com but found it to be too basic. You can't import historical data, so if you have investments you need to keep track of the cost basis for, your out of luck.

Bleh, Quicken appears to have increased its greed, got a notice today that 2007 edition support drops on 4/30/10, no tech support, no updates, no access to online bank information.

Thanks OP. I've never used programs like Quicken before but I decided to buy 2010 Home & Business. It's a nice program so far but it definitely has some quirks. For example, it classified all my ATM deposits as Child Support... wtf?

Talking still good

Hmmm.... It says the offer expires "January 4, 2010", "5 days only", but I just ordered it at 50% off on Jan. 9th. I hope Quicken is better at keeping track of dates then they are.

For what it is worth, I posted the deal but couldn't do it myself.

The day before I got the email from Quicken, I purchased and installed the download version from Amazon. That was the best deal at that point in time.

I felt that I had to do the upgrade soon because I was using Quicken 2007 to download info from my my financial instistutions and I knew that Quicken was going to drop that capability in 4/2010. Annoying. I should have waited one more day. But....

Also, if you are thinking of upgrading to Quicken 2011 next year, remember that for the past 5 years Quicken new version first releases in September or so have been very buggy. They tend to corrupt data in existing versions. Don't even think of upgrading until they release the R2 or R3 patches.

Quicken 2010 is now up to R4 and is safe to use.
Just remember if you just got Quicken 2010 to let it upgrade itself to R4 before using it for the first time.

Looks like the deal is dead - while the 50% message still appears on the quicken site, putting the product in your cart shows the original full price. Too bad - I need to replace Money 2007, which I can't install on my new computer due to the limit of 2 installations.
