The text before the video is unbelievably tacky :/

@IDC: Yes, despite their supposed perfect abs (so says the movie), the Spartans were pretty much annihilated. I like AMD myself, but sometimes I just have to shake my head and wonder if fanboys (like that particular one with that gem of a quote) are really twelve years old or younger. Lesson to parents: if you don't watch what your kids are doing on the internet, they could be collecting porn - or worse, they could become pathetic, insane, whiny fanboys. Parents, listen: only YOU can stop dumbassery.

Are you really thinking that way or just sarcastic? Grow up, it was a frigging marketing video
I rue the day Hollywood sees something like this though and makes a Hacker character who thwarts 1024(or some ridiculous figure) Encryption through extreme Overclocking, Pizza Pops, Jolt Cola, and blaring Music. I rue it!!!!!

AMD needs to support multicore technology if it wants to beat Intel.

hehe, truly sad and complete Fail on that comment. IIRC, and I think I do, when AMD introduced Multicore to the PC many thought it was a big mistake. Support it indeed!

Rome still exists too...I guess rumors of the Roman Empire's demise were overblown as well.
At any rate I was specifically referring to the 300 soldiers, all of whom were obliterated in the version of the historic battle that was impressed upon me in school. Sparta does not exist today as a sovereign nation.
I had no idea my one comment regarding the irony of associating Sparta == AMD == FTW given the demise of Sparta would spark such a fact hunting "I call BS" backlash.
Things are really getting ridiculous in PC community. First "professional gamers", now "professional overclockers"... I mean, come on, what's next - professional email checkers, online shoppers, search users, application installers... oh, here's a good one - professional Windows updates installers (those leet haxors that click "Restart" after auto updates).
If there is money to be made in doing it, and advertising/marketing budgets pretty much ensures that part becomes true, then there will be individuals who make a living off it being a pro at it.
It was only a matter of time before advertisers/marketeers figured out they could buy themselves some recognition by sponsoring this sport. From BMX to skateboards, if people find it fun to do in their backyards and neighborhood streets then big business will find you and exploit your hobby.
It is a sign that we have grown up, and we aren't any less special than all those other childhood sports you use to play that are now big business for ad sponsors.

Professional gaming isn't anything like the other categories you named it next to. It's plenty serious and very well organized. There is no difference between gaming and sports in terms of how legitimately someone could play it professionally. They are exactly the same.
