Default Is MusicMatchJukebox still working as a MP3 Ripper with CDDB Name Lookup?

I have a registered version of MusicMatchJukebox and have ripped my 800 CDs to MP3 complete with CDDB name lookup. I did this 3 years ago. I'm really happy with the program. Unfortunately, I did it at 128. I'll have to do it again at 192 to create quality rips.

I was working on someones computer and dowloaded an unregistered copy of the program. I ripped a CD at 192, but I was unable to use the CDDB for naming the songs. Is this because MMJB was not registered or because it is no longer supported and you can't name songs. Its still great for listening. However, I need an MP3 ripper to access CD song names for MP3 creation.
Is MMJB still supported? Thanks.

WMP works. Foobar2000 with the Lame plugin works with freedb

You're right, it does work. My friend uses it. I'm looking for something not affiliated with Microsoft for the following reasons: Zune made a strong statement that Microsoft is a strong supporter of Digital Rights Management; Vista also said that MS is a strong supporter of DRM.

I don't trust the software, but if you're happy with it go for it.

Note: I got this from Leo LaPorte's show a 2 weeks ago, he said: The only DRM free MP3 players are, IRiver, Archos and Creative.

I went here to download (http://www.teqnilogik.com/tutorials/...l#Installation) Exact Audio Copy. I believe I must now add LAME.

To make MP3 with CDDB lookup; What version of LAME should I download and from where?
I looked at rarewares, but I wasn't sure which one would meet my needs. Thanks.

Or is LAME included in the installation of the program?

http://www.rarewares.org/mp3-lame-bundle.php

LAME 3.98.2 should be fine. Just unzip the files to CProgram Files\LAME (or whereever) and point your EAC installation to the location where you unzipped.

EAC will do the lookup with freedb. I think you click the CD icon when the drive is in the tray. EAC will rip to WAV files then encode to MP3 using LAME.

What's to trust? It either works or it doesn't. DRM isn't applied to tracks that don't have it, and the industry is getting away from DRM in general. I'm not sure what a DRM mp3 player is. Every one I know of plays mp3s as well as a couple proprietary formats, and they usually support a DRM format(typically MS Plays For Sure for non Apple players, and Apple uses whatever it is they use)

I believe DRM is real and you will find it being integrated more tightly with software and hardware as time progresses. Like I said, "I don't trust the software, but if you're happy with it go for it."

Zune will accept a song and delete it in 72 hours. How long will your MP3s last made with WMP? Maybe forever or maybe they won't. That's why I avoid Media Player. Besides that I never liked WMP for video either. I use Power DVD. That's only my choice IMHO.

If you're happy with WMP. Go for it!
