Default Identify this heatsink/fan
I don't mean the exact model. Just the style. Like socket A or whatever. I just found a giant box of these, and I have no idea what they are for Thanks!

better pics would be nice, but my guess is something AMD due to the two mounting points.

yeah i was thinking that too, however i remember some P4's on S478 used simular holes too no?

P4/478 had a post on each corner that the heatsink clipped into.

PIII/370 and Socket A had a clip on two sides, flat (not interchangeable)

I was thinking socket 754, but it has a lip on it that isn't consistent with the alignment of the lip on a 754.

It looks like a Socket A or Socket 754/939 HSF from a PC Chips motherboard. The ones that were "intergrated" and had a warranty void sticker across the CPU and ZIP lever.

The 4 little round things on the bottom of the heatsink would make that a socket A unit. 754/939 didn't use those.

Socket A has clips that grab onto the CPU socket. This has holes for screws. The holes are parallel to the board (socket A's clips are perpendicular).

As someone already stated, this HS is from one the the PC Chips boards. I never have used the PC Chip boards, but the only thing I ever seen use the 4 little round things are a Socket A CPU.
