Built new computer, get no display

Just wanted to give an update. I have resolved the issue and there were actually two hardware problems. I found that the motherboard had signal lights for any issues found. It signaled that there was a RAM issue. So I tried the RAM-sticks separately, and with the first stick it kept pointing at...

Built new computer, get no display

I built a new computer but something is wrong and I can't figure out what it is. Since I bought everything in pieces from different places, I have no specific store to turn to. When I turn on the computer, all the case fans start and I can hear the hard drives ticking, but I get no picture. The...

How to prevent Windows 10 from rebooting automatically?

If Microsoft was a person, I'd punch them in the face. Hard. Windows 10 needs to stop taking control of my computer. It is my computer, not Microsoft's, and having it reboot against my will is so stupid that I'm at a loss for words. My computer runs pretty much 24/7. I almost constantly have...

Broke my cooler. Can I still use it?

The lower part of the screw is stuck inside the standoff. Anyway, thanks for the tips, but the replies came in a bit too late. I have already sent the whole thing back waiting for a replacement. Apparently the store had to take the whole thing back for me to get a replacement. Unfortunately...

Broke my cooler. Can I still use it?

I was installing a Kraken X62 when I overtightened one of the screws so that it broke. The cooler still seems very firmly attached even if only three screws are holding it in place atm. Do you think it's safe to turn on? NZXT appears to take 2-3 weeks to send a replacement screw to Europe and...

Memory issues - faulty RAM ??

Yes, it does. I'm not familiar with what SPD stands for. I suppose it's the default memory settings or something like that? They're listed as 1600MHz, 8-8-8-24, 1.5V though so aren't they supposed to run what they're marketed as? I just ran a Memtest and it was all fine. I'm now running them...

Memory issues - faulty RAM ??

Not yet. I'll do that, thanks. I'm gonna run Memtest on these sticks first. Would Memtest be able to show my problem or can they only check if there are broken "cells" so to speak?

Memory issues - faulty RAM ??

Well, I just contacted my retailer and they're stating that this memory is not listed in ASRock's "supported memory list" and thus they won't replace them. While I understand them somewhat, I'm sorely disappointed that I'm now stuck with crappy RAM.

Memory issues - faulty RAM ??

Thanks for the replies. I tried changing voltage all the way up to 1.575 and it didn't resolve the issue. EDIT: Ok so I've experimented some further. I tried running the CPU at default frequencies and it didn't change anything. I'm now running what appears to be stable at 9-9-9-28 2T at 1600...

Memory issues - faulty RAM ??

I recently bought a new system with an ASRock Extreme4 Gen3 motherboard, Core i5 2500k and some Corsair memory to go with it. The memory is specified as 8-8-8-24 at 1600Mhz, however, whenever I run it at 1600Mhz I get bsod at bootup. These are the RAM sticks. They are Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB...

    Safe voltage?

Thanks for the info. The link above was very useful as well, thanks.

    Safe voltage?

I just put together a new system with a Core i5 2500k and a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus with a push/pull fan solution. Anyway, I'm currently running it at 4.6 Ghz and 1.4v and it's perfectly stable. My CPU temp is usually between 45-55C. I've never seen it above 57 C. So now I'm eager for...
