    vbulletin avatars

Hey guys -- these are really temporary avatars. We will add more later. We will have some of the ft ones, but they own most of them so... There is that. We *may* allow custom uploads in the future, but that's a yet to be decided policy issue and we are absolutely waiting until we are out of...

NC H1380 Medical Marijuana Act in Health Committee June 18

It used to be what I'd take... until it started causing rebound headaches. Abortive treatments can sometimes start triggering more migraines. For me it started slow -- I would get maybe one migraine every 6 months and some exedrin and sleep seemed at least to help. Of course I'd need to...

Federal bills introduced to support medical marijuana and decriminalize possession

^^^ i think he meant to say that alcohol isn't smokey ... maybe? its sort of a blend though ... it is similar to alcohol (but safer) as an intoxicant and similar to tobacco (but safer) as a smokable ... so it's not the "same" but it really isn't different either. especially with...

Federal bills introduced to support medical marijuana and decriminalize possession

It's okay. Some people find the best way to effectively employ a logical fallacy like ad hominem attacks ("Why don't you people learn how to actually debate") is by deflecting others with false accusations of the use of another logical fallacy (in this case the strawman). It is good for...

Federal bills introduced to support medical marijuana and decriminalize possession

you have obviously still not read my post if you believe I was attacking a metaphor. I can walk you through it: quippy joke ... referencing the fact that we have tried the prohibition of intoxicants in the past. I bolded the other part this time so you could see that the point was to...

Federal bills introduced to support medical marijuana and decriminalize possession

^^ It is a bit of a stretch to say that I (or the rest of the legalization crowd) only want medical marijuana approved because I/we also want it legalized/regulated. They are two different issues and I (and most others) whole-heartedly believe the medical issue to be the most pressing matter...

    Free Trade versus Democracy

I certainly agree with this. To respond to your response to me, Craig, I am not a corporatist and I believe there need to be more limitations on corporations than there currently are. But I feel this is separate from the free market issue. I agree that I did not go into the details...

U.S. completely screws up Gitmo case.

it's too late to worry about that, they already don't respect us. we do shit like this combined with going into other people's countries and starting "wars" that aren't wars for no justifiable reason, in addition to heavily hampering the foreign policy of some countries using thinly veiled...

    Free Trade versus Democracy

Fuck Democracy; I want my Constitutional Republic back. I don't care about democracy, I care about LIBERTY. ::EDIT:: okay I'll clarify just a little bit... The idea of liberty requires the protection of the individual from other individuals and groups including other individuals. A...

Federal bills introduced to support medical marijuana and decriminalize possession

I tend also to find that the vast majority of the /adults/ I know who smoke cannabis do not smoke tobacco. And I live in North Carolina ... There are a couple tobacco smokers I know who also smoke cannabis, but they tend to only do so recreationally and occasionally rather than medically...

Federal bills introduced to support medical marijuana and decriminalize possession

so ... http://www.time.com/time/healt...0,8599,1893946,00.html ... and now it's getting better. if they step forward to full legalization and regulation i think they'll find even more benefit not just through a reduction in harm to drug users (which is already happening) but a reduction...

Federal bills introduced to support medical marijuana and decriminalize possession

"OTC" is not really what I would call what is needed. You would want to highly regulate things, at the least (for things like cannabis) like alcohol and at worst similar (but a little less restrictive) to the way we regulate methadone. I believe, Portugal allows access to heroin and offer...

Federal bills introduced to support medical marijuana and decriminalize possession

XZeroII -- You might want to read my previous post, as I'm not using a strawman argument; I'm using the alcohol situation as a metaphor and as an example to explain the problems we have with prohibition of drugs and thus support the argument for legalization. SickBeast -- I'm actually for the...
