on Sunday, I saw two neat cars.

1) pretty sure it was a new (C8) corvette Z06
2) fisker karma

edit: looking up prices, the fisker karma almost looks like a hidden gem? 2012 models going for 30-35k. uses a GM engine, and the battery pack I would guess is swappable with more recent Karma Reveros (the continuation model under new owners)

I talked to a C8 owner the other day. He had traded in his Lotus for it & had already put 10k miles on it lol. Said he absolutely loved it, just a gem of a car & didn't miss the Lotus at all!

Verde Smeraldo! What an amazing color!

A Maserati Levante passed me on the way to SF yesterday and the color was glorious! The SUV just looks like any other rolling jelly bean but damn, that color!

Unreal depreciation - but the paint option alone is ~$15K

The Murano CrossCabriolet and the Pontiac Aztek were abysmal failures. They may have a cult following now but at the time of their initial launch both vehicles did not sell very well and were cancelled within a few years.

I'm not saying a vehicle like these wouldn't succeed today but I can certainly see why automotive manufacturers would be hesitant in bringing one to market. But who knows....Ford brought back the compact pick-up truck and it has been a runaway success.

RangeRover tried it with the Evoque - the convertible model lasted all of 2yrs '17-'18.

Cute cars, cult following, but abysmal failures. Now they fetch >$50K for prime examples.

Spotted this really cool C4 Corvette ZR-1. Before any one makes fun of it this is hands down the most misunderstood Corvette of all time. It sports a Lotus inspired 32 valve overhead quad cam V-8. It made over 375 HP in the early '90's!
For reference the new flat plain crank Z-06 is the only other Corvette to have more than one camshaft.

This car was so bad ass is spurred Car & Drivers now legendary 5-60 mph street car test.
I kinda love this car.......

Jason Cammisa from Hagerty Media did a piece on this Corvette a year ago and it is awesome. The driving scene at the end is amazing.

This car was so popular Road and Track implemented this model into the very first Need for Speed game.

Yep, journalists loved it but consumers just couldn't stomach the price of it and that is what killed it.....well that and the LS1. Which as any car enthusiast knows is one of the most bad ass engines ever manufactured.

I also caught this gem while traveling around the other night. A Silverado K5 Blazer from what looks like the '80's or maybe even the early '90's. Not 100% sure though becasue my knowledge on SUVs is very limited.

Anyway, it was really cool to see a clean example like this one.

I drove a '67 Dodge Dart yesterday. The amount of random compliments you get, stopping in a high foot-traffic area . . . Man, I'm not used to the attention. Feel like I'm on parade.

It was a frumpy 4-door model too - like this, but pale yellow. Sure it's rare, but not exotic. (googled up a photo to illustrate)
