I was reading the DT article on Hector Ruiz stepping down, and I noticed a link to AMD's Puma platform.

It looks like it's launched, this is the end of Q2 and there are a couple models out already.

Toshiba laptop @ newegg (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834114497)
HP Tablet PC @ newegg (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834147739&nm_mc=OTC-pr1c3grabb3r&cm_mmc=OTC-pr1c3grabb3r-_-Tablet+PCs-_-Hewlett-Packard-_-34147739)

What interests me is the new integrated graphics, similar to the HD 3200 on the desktop 780g.

I'm care somewhat. I've been tearing myself apart the last few days between the Toshiba 13.3" at Best Buy for $749 and a Lenovo Y510. Each has it's pluses and minuses and I just can't decide. Maybe that's because I don't really need a laptop. :) I may just wait until the Centrino 2 platforms hit the market, but I'm not positive I can wait!

There's a lot more interest around Centrino 2 than Puma.

Puma is a good move for the budget crowd, but performance still largely goes to Intel.

There is one definite advantage: the Radeon HD 3200. It's apparently much faster than the X4500/X4700 video and closer to a GeForce 8400M in some cases. That's exceptional for integrated graphics.
