Benq 1655 dvd burner problem

I have only had this burner for a month and it works fine but I find it a bit loud and it doesn't appear to stop seeking the dvd even though I don't have apps utilizing it. Does this sound normal?

if you havent already... download the newest firmware for the drive

The newer BenQs are louder, but seeking when it's not being used...that i dunno.

I use AnyDVD, & amongst the other features is an option to set drive speed to Slow & Quiet, which works beautifully for movies :)

I updated to the latest firmware and it appears to have solved the 'hang' issue I was having. Funny thing is benq site doesn't have the latest firmware for 1655. Had to go to cdfreaks.com to find it.
