Hello! Im looking for a new laptop in the US!
Ive got 600 dollars and the only notebook that fit with my money requiriments is:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16834115463 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834115463)
The Asus are cheaper but I need disk space and ram.

Is this the better buy? or are there better notebooks for the price?

Greetings from Chile
Bz.
PS: what´s the difference between a notebook and a laptop?

check out the hot deals forum. for 600 or less you should be able to get something dual-core with similar specs.

for instance, bestbuy has an insprion with a turion x2, 3GB ram, 160gb hdd, webcam, etc for 599 before tax. you could also check the dell outlet, and certainly get something under 600 with nvidia graphics, particularly if you look at the business/vostro line.

thats really just a generic terminology. some prefer to say notebook, some prefer the word laptop. essentially they are the same thing

Check out the Dell Outlet. Also, as said above, check the hot deals section.

dell outlet is the used equipment section of dell. here (http://www.dell.com/outlet)
They come with a warranty, so don't worry.

Similarly, Lenovo has an outlet like Dell, but you might be hard-pressed to find one below 600.

They are hardly used. Refurbs, overstock, and scratch and dent. I have bough a refurbished desktop and a notebook from the Dell Outlet. Both came in new condition.
