"Please Note: Shipping is $55 per monitor due to the size and weight of the monitor. We will re-adjust the shipping if it is too high or too low"
I'm pretty sure it just means their system won't automatically figure the shipping at $55, so they'll adjust it up or down so it is $55. Could be wrong though, wouldn't be the first time.
Anyone have any opinions on these, or which ones are better. I bought a 21" refurb Hitachi several years ago, can't remember if it was this place or not. It's getting a little on the dull side and since I'm not ready to drop $500+ on an LCD just now, I thought this might be a good deal.

I remember they sold these refurbs couple years ago.. they had refurb style A and B anyway.. i picked one up and still using it.
i went from a 17 to this 21 and its great... but too big. Now with the plasmas/LCD's getting cheaper... im waiting for 19" to be a good deal. (with dvi) it was nice while for gamming and graphic designing.
WARNING - once you go this big, 17 seems so small

good monitors, but i agree with Dags, 21" is too big. I have a 21" IBM with the same tube, and often find myself leaning far back in my chair so i can see clearly. That's why they stopped making high-production units at this size, although 19" was the realistic maximum size (and still is.)
Go to a store and look for a 21" CRT. You won't find anything bigger than 19". There are reasons for this.

Nooooooooo....I payed over $1,000 for this monitor 3-4 years ago.... me sad :(
But I have to say, this is one awesome monitor! Even w/ my extended warranty (6 years from Bigmonitors.com), it still works like a champ.

I have this exact monitor. I thinks this is one of the best monitors I have ever owned. I bought it 5 or 6 years ago and was using it up until recently. The only reason I replaced it was it took a direct hit from lightning. I know it was direct because it went up my hand through my mouse. The monitor survived with only a little color damage in the display.

This also have BNC connectors if you prefer them.
You don't HAVE TO use them.
They're there if you prefer them.

Would the extra $10 be worth it?

My 19" Sony Trinitron G400 is a total freakin' POS and I'm on my SECOND one. First one had to be returned under warranty (of course I had to pay shipping on a 19" monitor) when it completely died. Second one now randomly freaks out upon resolution changing.

the big difference between hitachi tubes and sony tubes is the shadow mask wire. it looks like a row of dead pixels. on the 21" tubes I believe it has 2 wires! Bugs the hell out of me... But I think th sony has a better picture.
I like viewsonic and eizo monitors. They also use both hitiachi and sony tubes.
I think the picture looks better on a tube vs a plasma/lcd. Plus have they improved enough to solve the ghosting issue?

You mean Damper Wires. That's what Sony Trinitron screens have to support the screen. They are not that obtrusive. I've always had Trinitron displays. I think they look totally better, and have richer brighter colors. I hardly notice the damper wires in my Sony G410R 19".
This Cornerstone (Hitachi tube), is a standard Shadow Mask display. Hitachi tubes were supposed to be pretty good. What's the refresh rate for 1600x1200 and up? I hope at least 85hz.

Well my 19" Sony G410R is about to go out. When I first turn it on, it sometimes makes a popping noise, and the screen has flickering lines in it. Made in Mexico and only a little over 2 years old!!! There is where Sony's quality went. Down south...
I probably will go CRT again, because I need 1600x1200. No way I'm getting a 1280x1024 LCD with that weird 5:4 pixel ratio. And 21" LCD's that can do 1600x1200 are just a little too overpriced.
